Inspired by her mother’s upbringing in Ghana where she grew an appreciation for the skin benefits of raw, unrefined shea butter, Naa-Sakle Akuete wanted to bring this natural wonder balm to the masses. With her mother's support, she started Eu’Genia Shea—a social enterprise dedicated to producing pure, highly concentrated shea butter moisturizers while giving back to the female workers who cultivate the nuts.
