Diversity has always meant much more to me than simply acknowledging differences—it’s about moving beyond tolerance to celebrating the richness of individuals, regardless of who they love, what they look like, or where they come from. After all, the best things in life—whether family or friends, food or beauty—are made even better from diversity.
I founded The Detox Market on the belief that our choices have real power, and that everyday changes can lead to profound, lasting transformation. When it comes to diversity and inclusion in the beauty industry, what matters most is not only awareness, but advocacy and action—taking concrete steps to pave a better way forward toward equality and representation.

Community & Culture
The goal of our Diversity & Inclusion council is to ensure everyone feels safe, heard, and valued. We’re prioritizing cross-departmental coffee chats, and implementing ongoing feedback opportunities to create the most welcoming environment possible.
Talent & Leadership
Representation matters. By investing in training, mentorship, and professional development resources for BIPOC employees, we’re doing our part to support a more equitable future.
Brands & Partnerships
We’re always on the hunt for a diverse pool of brands, and while this hasn’t changed, we’re doubling down on our commitment to proactively seek out partnerships that align with our values.
We’re committing $1,000,000 over four years to help launch and accelerate BIPOC-owned green beauty brands by investing in media space, funds for marketing, creative resources, and senior-level mentorship across all business operations.
Our BIPOC-owned brands
Over the past few years, we’ve had the pleasure of getting to know some incredible BIPOC-owned green beauty brands, many of which are underrepresented in the beauty industry. To combat this inequity, we’ve pledged to carry at least 20% BIPOC-owned/BIPOC-founded brands—here are some of our favorites. As of April 2021, we’re at 25%.
The Launchpad is our ongoing initiative to help BIPOC founders launch new green beauty brands and accelerate their growth. Why? We believe entrepreneurs are huge drivers of change and innovation, and have the power to disrupt the status quo for the better. Through investing in media space, funds for marketing, creative resources, and senior-level mentorship across all business operations, our goal is to help them take their company to the next level.
